Who we are

CanB Apps (“we”) develops the apps OpenLift, OpenMeal, OpenRead, OpenScale and WebsiteBlock and operates this website, canb-apps.com. Contact details are in our legal notice. For privacy questions, write to privacy@canb-apps.com.

Our apps

Our apps work on your device. They don't send what you enter to us or to anyone else, and they contain no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code.

iCloud sync

Some apps offer optional iCloud sync. When you turn it on, your app data is stored in your private iCloud database through Apple's CloudKit service, so it can appear on your other devices signed in to the same Apple Account. This data is protected by Apple and is not accessible to us. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy. You can turn sync off and remove synced data in each app's settings.

Permissions

Apps ask for permission before using the camera, Apple Health or notifications. Each permission is used only for the feature that asks for it, and you can change it at any time in the Settings app.

OpenLift

• Exercises, workouts, plans, logged sessions and pictures are stored on your device.
• Optional iCloud sync keeps them in step across your iPhone and iPad through your own private iCloud database.
• Notifications are scheduled on your device for timers and planned workouts.

OpenMeal

• Foods, meals, your log, goals and pictures are stored on your device.
• Optional iCloud sync keeps them in step across your iPhone and iPad through your own private iCloud database.
• The camera is used only while you scan a label or barcode. Images are processed on your device and are not uploaded.
• Reminders are scheduled as notifications on your device.

OpenRead

• Your books, highlights, notes, bookmarks and reading statistics are stored on your device.
• Optional iCloud sync carries reading positions, bookmarks, highlights, notes and collections through your private iCloud database. Book files are never uploaded.
• Read aloud uses the voices on your device.

OpenScale

• Your weight entries, goal and settings are stored on your device.
• Optional iCloud sync keeps them in step across your iPhone and iPad through your own private iCloud database.
• If you allow it, entries are written to Apple Health on your device. OpenScale only writes and updates its own entries.

WebsiteBlock

• Your list of websites, timers and schedules is stored on your device and shared only with the WebsiteBlock Safari extension.
• The extension does not read page content, keep a browsing history or send the addresses you visit anywhere.

This website

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics and loads no third-party scripts, fonts or embeds. Like any website, our hosting provider processes technical data that your browser sends automatically, such as your IP address, the page requested and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. These logs are kept only briefly by the provider and are not used to identify you.

When you contact us

If you email us, we use your address and message only to answer you. We keep the conversation for as long as needed to help you and delete it afterwards, unless the law requires us to keep it.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, to object to its processing and to complain to a data protection authority. Because we hold no app data about you, these requests usually concern emails you have sent us. Write to privacy@canb-apps.com.

Children

Our apps don't collect data from anyone, including children.
